Just wondering if iMac G3's are very finicky about ram. I have a friend who want's to upgrade his old iMac G3 (I think it's 600mhz), but the Apple stores charge exorbitant prices for ram and I can get him a much better deal from my store on some generic Samsung or Infineon. I just want to know what the chances are that it will work in his system - I don't want to be stuck with 512mb PC133 as it might sit on my shelf forever if it doesn't work for him.

When I last checked a few weeks ago, 512MB was going for $64.00 delivered.

and a 1 GB PC3200 stick for the G5 iMac for $79.00. These were not the lowest prices, but they
were specified to work with these machines, so I didn't mind paying 5 or 6 dollars more.
