I just bought a 1.8 ghz 20" iMac from the UCLA Store. Apple sells these refurb for 1299 with the educational discount. These ones are 999, NEW, and come with the bluetooth module, keyboard, and mouse as well as 512 MB of ram instead of 256. On top of all of that, you get a retail copy of Tiger for free since it's not preinstalled. Really sweet deal don't you think? There are about 60 left so eat them up.

Buy 3 of them and put them up on eBay. A person would make bank going that route.

Holy craps. I paid over 2000 CND for my 17 incher that came with Tiger pre-installed. That included an extra gig of ram, of course, but holy craps.
Do they come with an AE card? Superdrive/Combodrive?
Oh wait, are these Rev. A's? In that case, no thanks. Expect some weird leaky capacitor problems with your new iMac in the next few weeks.

Yeah, but you got a PowerBook, which has no widespread logic board problems. Last I heard something like 60% of the Rev. A iMac G5s had faulty logic boards that would fry within 3 weeks of use.

c'mon...stop crashing this guys parade. its not like he could return it now (i know the policy at that store), so if there's anything wrong he'll just have to send it in but the problem isn't on all iMac computers, in fact its a small percentage. the guy just bought a new iMac... dont give him a reason to sweat unnecessary bullets.

Hehe. Sorry. I used to sweat those bullets. I'm still worried about my Rev. B iMac.

Well it's really not my problem if it gets friend. It's replacing my dad's 733 sawtooth that he paid something like 3 grand for. I'll be getting a computer next year when the intel books come out. And if the board is fried, we'll send it to Apple, no big deal. He'll still have a computer thats about 5x faster than his old G4 with a mega fragged hard drive. And to answer your question, it has a superdrive but no AE extreme.
