IMac G3 connection to HP laserjet 5000

I have tried to hook up this printer (HP Laserjet 5000N) to my IMAC G3
without any luck. I have used Ethernet 10Base wire to the RJ-45 port
in printer and connected to the networking port on IMAC, loaded
the printer software several times and I cannot see the Driver ICON
on my Chooser. Can anyone help with this? Thanks
