Looking for some advice on which of these two powermacs to get. First of all I'm new to owning a mac although i use them some at work.
Power Mac G5 DUAL 2.5GHz/ 512MB/ 160GB/ 8x SuperDrive/ PCI-X/ Rad9600XT
OR
Power Mac Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5/512MB/160GB/16x SuperDrive double-layer/PCI/ATI Radeon X850 XT w/256MB DDR SDRAM
My main concern is playing World of Warcraft decently at 1280x1024. The Dual 2Ghz is about $150 cheaper but i'm thinking it might be worth getting the dual 2.5 since if i need to I can update the card down the road. I know a 9600xt will play WoW fine on the PC side but what about on the mac? Also I do a lot of multimedia/3d/animation work but since this is a home box and not for work i'm thinking either will be fast for that or am I wrong here?
Thanks for your help!

I just bought a Powermac G5 2/2,3 Ghz 515 mb ram, 250 Gb Hd, ATI 9650 256mb ram. And I also could have bought a Power Mac Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5/512MB/160GB/16x SuperDrive double-layer/PCI/ATI Radeon X850 XT w/256MB DDR SDRAM, But with the 2,3 Ghz model I can upgrade ram to 8 GB, the same as you can with the 2,5. Plus You can always upgrade the video card later if you want. The 2 Ghz only takes 4 GB ram…..
So I say go for the 2,5 Ghz…..

Welcome to the boards. Whatever it is your selection, please add more RAM.

Id go with the 2.5ghz.
You can upgrade the ram, video card, DVD drive, etc - at any time down the road.
The what you cannot currently upgrade are the CPUs, number of RAM slots, and PCI speeds.
I run WoW at 1680x1050 res with a consistant 20-30 fps (more than enough for that style of game). I have a dual 2.5ghz with 2.5GB ram and a radeon 9800pro (can be picked up and flashed from the PC side for like $120).

UltraCube: 1.4ghz - Radeon9800pro - 1.2
GB ram - 120gb/8mb HD - 24x Combo Drive
--- all running off an external 400watt MDD
power supply.
20" Apple Aluminum LCD (sweet)
