Hello all. I recently converted over from the sub par world of pc's and bought a iMac G3, 450 Mhz DV model (it's Indiglo Blue and Clear), with a slot loading dvd drive.
It starts up fine and it super quiet. The problem however is the idiot who shipped it to me, packed this item in a very obscure way. Long story short, he filled the shipping box semi full of packing peanuts placed the iMac Screen down into them and then filled the remaing space with more packing peanuts. I got the thing in good condition, no scratches. But I nearly went postal when I saw what was protruding from the slot drive packing peanuts were jammed into the slot, I tried to extract all of the large particles that I could by hand and tweezers. I gave it a test, popped a dvd in, and it would not work, would not read the disk, and ejected it very, very slowly as if great effort was involved.
I need to what cost effective solutions or methods would be available for fixing this.
