Hello everyone, new to the forums... I'm getting ready to buy a new eMac and will upgrade the RAM myself and I was wondering:

1. Is there any difference in performance between using two 256 DIMMS vs. one 512 DIMM? What about two 512 DIMMS vs. one 1GB DIMM? What do you recommend?

2. Apple does not "support" more than 1GB ram in the emac, but people have said they have installed two 1GB DIMMS for a total of 2GB. Do you actually see any difference in performance?

Thanks

Sorry, I can only answer #1, and the answer is

a) 2x 256 takes up more space than 1x 512
b) Same thing

Its all about upgrading in the future.
