Quick question: On my old iMac (1st gen), it said the max ram was 256 megs...but it took 512 fine. It just wasn't made when 512 chips were common. Anyway, I know the QS supposedly only supports 1.5 gigs ram, but what if I stuck 2 1 gig ram chips in there? Would it die? Would it see 2 gigs?

Why?

No offense, but your one word answers are pretty annoying. Also I think it's ******** you banned the one guy who actually knew about MODIFYING macs from the mac modification forum. All you do is buy upgrades.

the G4 powermacs that use PC133 cannot address more than 512Mb per slot. Its just a limit of the memory controller. Actually I think the MDD DDR powermacs have the same limit.
