Hello,
I dusted off my B&W G3 450mhz 1gb ram. after almost a year of non-usage. Gonna donate it to a friend of mine that has a P-II(!!). I installed Tiger using a Dvd combo drive pulled from a emachines. wow it installed just fine. it acually runs pretty good after i did the QE hack. I have a hacked radeon 9100 64mb card in there. i must say. very surprised on how well it runs day to day things like itunes, adium and safari. i o'c it to 500mhz but it wasnt stable after a few days. kept crashing. anyways what i want to replace is the main system/case fan. i think its a 120mm but it has a strange connector that goes straight to the power supply. its getting noisy. any aftermarket fan i can use? i've seen replacement parts but they sell the whole damn metal bracket plus fan. besides im looking for a BETTER fan than the stock one. i know they have tons of pc case 120mm fans, but they all use the standard molex(??) connector. anyway to modify? another question is on the radeon 9100. the fan on the gpu has died, sometimes it will spin but barely. how do i remove the hs/fan? just pull it out? there are no screws on it like my 9800 pro. so im kind of scared on damaging the gpu. they are some great aftermarket fans out there i would like tyo try. thanks for any info.

If you cant find a suitable replacement fan, let me know, I have an extra one (with or w/o the bracket) from a B&W tower that I could sell you for ~$6 shipped in the US...

And IIRC, that Radeon fan is stamp-riveted onto the pcb.....tough, but not impossible, to remove. Would involve a dremel tool with a very small bit and and EXTREMELY steady hand

I can't recall where I last saw a voltage settings chart. But, basically, it involves going at the ZIFs PCB with a soldering iron and rearranging a few resistors.

most B&W's can be overclocked by removing the stock jumper block on the mobo and replacing it with individual jumpers. Did mine that way originally from 350 to 450mhz, and then again later, when I installed a G4 upgrade, bumpered it from 550 to 650mhz.....

lookie here: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G3-ZONE/yosemite/OC.html
for instructions

thanks for the replies. yeah i overclocked mine already, using the jumper method from 450-->500. buts never stable at 500 for more than a few days. i star getting crashes. i read a long time ago that a voltage mod could help. just cant find were anymore one more thing. i know these towers dont have aiport. but how do i add wireless to it? i looked around for them USB 802.11 adapters, but there is no driver support on the Mac. anything else i can add to it to make it join a wireless network?
