hi

I replaced the 1998 logic motherboard in my powermac g3 (blue&white) with a 1999 one

now it plays 5 beeps and doesn't start up

it has a g4 chip from a yikes (I put the jumpers in the same positions as they were on the previous board - but the mac doesn't startup

could this be to do with the jumpers?

please help

I don't think a G3 board will work with a G4 processor.
Experts?

it worked on the 1998 board - replaced it because I was having problems with kernal panics and mouse/keyboard freezes

Well then the problem must have been the CPU or another part.
Try putting the origional CPU and jumpers back and see what happens
