Anyone know the RAM capacity of a 333 MHz iMac? I thought it was 288 but crucial.com tells me it's 516.

It is 536870912 bytes.

Also known as 512MB using two 256MB SO-DIMMs.

That's great - thanks!

So once maxed out w/RAM, can I upgrade to OS 10.3.9 or would it be best left at 10.1.5?

you can upgrade to 1.3.9 at anything above 128mb, but if you want it fast, 256 or above, really

I went from 10.1.5 to Panther with an iMac DV 400 (with 512MB) with all the upgrades and it was faster and better - so yes do it.

I would buckle down and just spend the money to get two 256s. You'll need as much as you can get.

Beware: You want "low-density" SO-DIMMs, preferably from a place that guarantees they will work in your iMac. If you buy high-density SO-DIMMs, the iMac will only see half the total ram of each.

Here is a good place and price. Shipping is supposed to be free, but it's USPS.
I found it on Deal Ram.
