just tested the video capturte on the 8600 and it works suprisingly well -a lot better tha the MyTV device I have

I tried updating OS8 to OS9 but it said this installer will not run on this macintosh -or words to that effect

is it possible to update this old machine to OS9?

any ideas?

Which version of 9? Pre G3s will only run up to 9.1

The only way to run 9.2 is to do an install of 9.1, then use OS 9 Helper from OS 9 Forever to install the 9.2.x updates.

You need the full retail version of OS9. The disk you have isn't the full version.
