hi

I have seen quite a few powermac 9600 towers go for a lot of money on some online auctions

and I have heard some people say that they prefer it to the G4

anybody else share the same views - what features does it have?

Eh, I love 'em too. They're the most expandable Power Macs ever built; 6 PCI slots, 12 RAM slots (1.5GB max), three 5.25" bays plus the floppy, and room for three hard drives.

The G4 MDD is close to the 9600. It has 5 slots (4 PCI and 1 AGP). The lack of slots is one reason I've not moved to a G5 yet--All my slots are filled. However, the 2 GB RAM limit is irritating :-(
