I'm considering buying a G5 Powermac but I've not bought a computer in a while and am out of the loop on where I should get it.

Should I mailorder it and save on the sales tax? If so, can anyone recommend some places to order from? I'm slightly apprehensive about mailorder since if there is a problem with it, I can't just bring it into the store. On the other hand, the savings may be worth it.

Also, should I get a refurbished model or not?

Any suggestions/tips would be great.

Amazon for the best price and no sales tax, otherwise, search the net (use various Mac sites) for the best deal.

Refurbs are a good way to save money and get a warranty.

Otherwise, buy whatever you can afford. And get AppleCare or some kind of extended protection if it is a notebook.
