hi

I have two powermac 9600's and both them - when I plug them in and start them up don't display anything on the screen

the monitor I have is not faulty as it works with other powermacs

the machine starts up but the monitor does not become activated (if you know what I mean)

does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

Defective RAM in my 8600 caused it to fail to boot after the startup chime, even though it had not been an active nuisance until that point. Defective RAM is the easiest answer.

I'd also try moving the video cards to different positions. As I recall, the 95/9600 machines liked having the video card in the lowest PCI slot.
