I got an offer to trade my 5 year old PC for an iMac G3 700. Is it worth it? The way i look at it is, its a Mac, its not TOO old, and Its better than a 1.2GHz PC. My uestion is will this run Tiger well? All im looking to do with it is INternet, email, a LITTLE iPhoto, and for my iPod nano. Will it be good for this?

It runs Tiger well enough if it has enough RAM. I believe that model has an official maximum of 512 MB of RAM - you'd need to have that much for Tiger to run well.

Slight problem with that iMac is it only has USB 1.1 while iPod Nano spec. says it needs USB2.0 - not sure if it will work with USB 1.1 albeit slowly - anyone know?

It'll work with USB 1, but like you said, slow. I already have the songs I want on it, and if I want to change or add songs, its usually about 10 every week or so. thanks tho! And this model actually has 1GB, butI'm gonna put 384 in cause it comes with 256, and i think i only have a 128 stick

I think it should run Tiger fine. Just whack in as much RAM in there as possible.

I'm running Tiger on my G4 Cube 450 with 640MB RAM.

It runs just fine.
