So I'm going through my gold box this morning when I'm offered a loaded iMac G5 20" 2.0.

Gold box discount: -$90
Amazon.com Mail In Rebate: -$125

Meaning I'd be able to get a better machine than this one (20" 1.8 iMac G5) for about $500 less than what I paid for mine ($1999 in January).

[sigh]

All the discounts and opportunity, never when you're ready to buy

This is the first time something so expensive has been in my gold box. That extra ~$100 makes a big difference when you're laying down $ on a new machine!

I'm sitting tight though, and waiting for the Mactel thing to work out the kinks before dropping dough on another Mac. Like to move up to the PowerMac but that means buying a separate display. Big vacation coming up, not a lot of money laying around
