I just came into the possesion as a gift, a Single 1.25GHz PowerMac G4 which are known as "mirrored Drive Doors" or "windtunnel." And I can't seem to find any Processor upgrades out there for it. Does any body know of any. OWC or sonnet didn't seem to have any. I've been using a 1.33GHz PB, but now this G4 tower will be my workhorse and I do not want any down grade in performance. I already plan on putting in the last 512mb ram and perhaps a ATI 9600Pro. So does anybody know of any upgrades out there?
Don't know of any upgrades for that model, but for what it's worth, the additional RAM, superior video card, and faster hard drive should be more than enough to compensate for the slight MHz advantage of your Powerbook.
Yeah the MDD upgrades have all gone bye-bye. There is talk of a dual 2GHz, but nobody knows when it might show up. I'd be happy with a dual 1.8 if the price was right.
