Title says it all... I'm taking my HD's out of an older G5 and moving them into a new one. Problem is the bottom hard drive is STUCK. I can't even begin to get the slightest bit of movement, even when I undo the latches with flat head screw drivers and WIGGLE.
This is pretty ridiculous, and should NOT be this hard.
Pleeeease help with some suggestions. I can't get any kind of grip on this thing.

Take the top drive out first - that will help a lot.

Are you sure there isn't some screen somewhere you missed? If It's not loose at all it typcially means it's attached to something.

Nope I didn't miss anything. A bunch of people have been having this problem ( see this post ) as the screws that apple provided for the second drive were a little too big and not coated with a slippery material. This thing was just wedged in there.
With a shoelace and a prayer I was able to get this thing out. I had to drop it down behind the drive and get a hold of it from the other side... then I could pull the drive towards me with the shoelace.
Also, you can't remove the top drive before removing the second drive. the clearance isn't there.
Thanks,
Robert
