So I need an iMac to use with my new iBook. I'm torn. I need to not spend ALL of my money but it might be woth to spend a bit more. Pros, Cons. Top 3 are refurbs, bottom is NEW with Eductional discount. I'll still need to add ram to make it 1G which is around $70; so that will make B more expensive too.
thanks!!

i'd go with c or d...for only $100 more if youre going to take advantage of the larger screen and hard drive, its a great deal.
p.s. i voted "c''

It's really a matter of what YOU want/need/can afford. I still voted for "A" though. Best deal I think.

I went from a 21" Trinitron monitor to an 17" iMac G5. First LCD display and I love it. Problem is the bottom 1/3 of my screen is no longer there. I am getting use to it, but I wouldn't recommend a first gen 20" due to they seem to be the ones with the most problems.

thanks guys, I'm leaning toward 'A' because of some recent expenses. I'd LOVE a 20" but the refurb might be the way to go for the 17". Keep voting!!

although the price difference between A and D isn't that much, IMO the refurb units are just as good as new units. Apple really makes them worth the discount. If it was me, I would buy A. (for some reason, though, I don't feel as comfortable buying refurb notebooks as I do refurb anything else...)

I'd go with D but only because of the better SuperDrive. Otherwise, go with C. It's not that much more than the 17" choices, the performance should be great, and display improvement should be BIG.

I vote for A, but then again, what exactly are you using this computer for again?
