The computer is a Dual 1ghz, 1280mb of ram, 120gig hd, extra 20gig hd, 10.4.2.

The problem is when it sleeps for a whole night it will shut down during the night time. No power outages are causing it, or anything like that. Maybe this is the powersupply issue, as it can only power 2 harddrives.

Any ideas?

Check your system log for details to get an idea of what happened.

go to Macintosh HD>Applications>Utilities>Console

look at the sytem log and look for info the between the time you slept the G4 til the moment of reboot you had to do after you found out your G4 shut itself off in the middle of the night.
