I have a Mac Mini with an external HD attached. On this external drive I have my entire 18.3 GB collection of MP3's that I use with iTunes. I want to also have this MP3 collection on my PC. However when I hook this drive to my PC it will not even see the drive. When i plug my PC external HD to the MAC it will see it fine.

How can I get my Mac mini collection of MP3's copied to my PC?

Thanks!

Your external HDD is probably formatted for HFS which Windows cannot read.
I'm sure there is a program around somewhere to read HFS disks, I seem to recall Mac Drive or something was able to do it or HFS Explorer?

Put the mp3s back on your mini hd. They format the external so that It can be read by a windows machine. I did when I hooked up my external. Then put your files back on it and your set to go.

Thanks a ton!! Reformatting the drive to be MS-DOS based worked perfectly. I can use the external drive on both my Mac and PC.

Just remember that there are some file names that the Mac can use but Windows can't. I ran into trouble copying MP3s from a Mac to a MSDOS-formatted drive once because there were filenames like this, and it was kind of a pain to sort it out.

The other option is to get (buy) software for your Windows machines that allows it to read Mac disks.
