I have two cameras - A Canon MV600i and an MV X200i.When I attempt to import footage into iMovie HD the "Import" button does not feature. Instead I get a "Record with camera" button. Is there a way round this or are my cameras not compatable with this version of imovie as they have been with other versions. I am using an emac.

You could try this:

SOLUTION FOUND: Someone suggested opening GarageBand and typing in a few notes, and then re-opening iMovie.

It works. GarageBand opened to a file that was partially labeled "import" and was getting some weird feedback, presumably from the camera's microphone. I closed that file, opened a new one, hit a few notes on the musical keyboard and closed that file.

I opened iMovie and camera showed up fine and imported perfectly.
Or this:

Re-name iMovie HD to iMovie HD 5 (or move from applications folder) & re-install iMovie 4 as this imports from my Canon camcorder with no problem. Once imported just open the imported movie in iMovie HD and edit.

I used Pacifist to install only Imovie from my software disc.

MMMMMMmmmmmm

This isn't an iMac question, it's an application question.
