I own an iMac G5 rev a (the first model) with Super Drive.

I have a folder that's around 8 gigabytes that I would like to back up, but I don't want to burn it on two DVD's if I could use just one instead. So I would like to know if the first model iMac G5 can burn double layer DVD's. I checked the manual but it didn't say anything about that, is there any other way to find out? I don't want to waste money on a pack of DVDRs if it can't burn them.

I have the same Revision A - NO DUAL LAYER... I bought an external FW case and a DVR-109 - sweet and under $100 to get dual layer.

I believe OWC sells a replacement dual layer burning Superdrive for the iMac. IIRC, it was around $140.00.
