My 1.42GHz mini, 512 RAM SuperDrive + Bluetooth will not stay booted. It goes through the startup process fine after I press the button, then cuts off just as the Finder shows up. I noticed that the LED on the front sort of pulses as it's starting- blinking from bright to not-so-bright. It ran just fine for a couple of weeks, and I just shut it down overnight and tried to boot it in the morning.

I have the original Cinema Dispay 20" LCD with an ADC-DVI adapter.

Any suggestions of things to try?

The power button shouldn't do that - the blinking should only happen when it's asleep. Make sure that you unplug any usb or firewire devices while booting and turn off any wireless input devices to see if that makes a difference. Then try booting with the shift key down to boot without extensions. Then try booting from an external drive, possibly a CD.

If you don't have a bootable drive try the installer disc and run disk utility.

Does it always shut down at exactly the same point?

Not precisely, Most times it makes it to the Finder, then shuts off. A couple of times it barely got through the OS X Loading screen. I'll try to boot it from the Install CD and see if that works. I tried resetting the PMU with no luck. It was running just fine going to sleep. I guess that'll learn me to not shut down unecassarily. Oddly, its always restarted after software updates without issue.
