Hello,
I have an external firewire drive linked to my iMac g5. I have installed on the firewire as well the Tiger as a backup to my system.
I want to back up my user folder from time to time.
My question:
Is it possible to trash the User folder of the firewire, and then to drag & drop the one from my Mac each time I want to backup.
Or, do I need a special software like Carbon Copy Cloner or others to do it.

CCC will give you better results, especially when you set the external to be bootable.

Thanks for your reply, but i assume I wasn't clear enough.
The firewire is bootable already.
I need and want to backup the User folder only.
MY question: Is it enough to D&D the user folder from my computer towards my FireWire.
My fears are that may be there are hidden files which would not be dragged, so I would need a software like CCC or else.
