hi

dies anybody know if RAM from an 8500 will fit/work in a 5400?

Yeah, they both use the same type of RAM: 168 pin 70ns DIMMs.

The 8500 supports 128MB modules while the 5400 only supports up to 64MB modules, but yes the same type of RAM should work in both.
