Just bought a new 17" iMac G5 (the one with the isight) a week ago, but I started to notice that 512MB definetely was not enough ram for me. I decided to buy another 512MB of ram, but buying directly from Apple costs $100 for a mere 512MB . Looked on newegg and found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820161401. A 512MB stick of RAM from crucial for only $50. It fits all the requirements that are stated on the Apple support site, but the price is a bit low, so I'm suspicious that it won't work in an iMac. Do you guys think that it will work?
Consider buying a one-gig stick -- ram is one of those things where if a little helps a little, a lot will help a lot. Plus, if you do want to upgrade later you're stuck with a 512.
