I have a G4 dual 1Ghz processors mac with two internal hard drives equalling 150GB. I have had it for about 3 years now and am thinking of getting something new. I really only use it for internet, music, pictures and games. I was thinking of replacing it with a Mac Mini. I would definately get the high end model and I would opt for the stackable external hard drive (giving it roughly the same amount of memory that my G4 has now). Will I regret this move or do you think that the new Mini will satisfy my needs. Will one be faster than the other? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

If you waited for the new Mas mini's (1.5GHz) then max it out with RAM, then yer i would think it might be better.

No, stick with the dual -

2 x 1ghz vs 1 x 1.5 ghz - dual wins
7200RPM (assuming) drives vs 5400RPM - dual wins
Expandability - Dual wins
Size - Mini wins
Graphics - almost anything will beat the crap 9200 in the mini

Overall i'd say keep the dual - i know its horrible to get thinking about upgrading and then being told you should stay with what you have - its boring! i know! But its just not worth the money IMHO

OK, thank you. I will keep what I have for now. I just really didn't know how the Mini would stack up to my tower. I figured that if it was comparable, I could get a new puter for relatively cheap.
