Everything was going more or less smoothly as I was installing OS X 10.3.2 (CD's) using XPostFacto 4 on a Beige G3 Desktop (400MHz, 640 RAM, 6 VRAM (I tried plugging in a 32 MB ATI Radeon 7000 Mac Edition to no avail)). I plugged in a USB/Firewire combo card and applied the OS X 10.3.9 Combined upgrade, which recognized the Nano attached to it so I was pretty happy with things.
Right up until I tried plugging in a wireless PCI card. I know the Belkins are a little hit or miss depending on whether they have the Broadcom chipset or not. After checking their website they said the F5D7000 model was compatible with OS X 10.3, I went out and bought one. Upon rebooting, nothing was recognized so I tried applying Airport Installer 4.1 (I believe it was), and that's when I got a blank white screen (kernel panic I guess). I noticed that the one I bought was version 4, and checking a local chain store they had version 5 of the same card.
Can anyone tell me if the version 5 will work, or if I should go with another card altogether? And are there any driver downloads that will work for a Radeon 7000 graphics card to work? Thanks!
