Why are the HDs of my 1.25 GHz MDD attached to the ATA33 connector?

When I suppose the logical way would be to have them (two identical Seagate ST380011A HDs) to the ATA66 connector… I guess I can change them from ATA33 to ATA66 with no problem… right?. BTW aren't the hard drive bus inside the MDD supposed to be ATA 66 & ATA 100 ??

Yes, moving the drives to either the ATA66 or ATA100 bus will not cause any problems.

Yes, the MDDs have ATA66 and ATA100 for the hard drives. The ATA33 bus is meant for optical drives.

Exactly, an in-depth look into it and I found that those are the optical devices connectors,



So, the hard drives are actually connected to the ATA100 bus. Sorry for the mess…
