This article outlines where Intels chips are going, it could be pretty cool to have an 8 core chip by 2008. That would make for one hell of a Power Mac.

YOUR JOKING! That is wicked! 8 core but how good is intel vs the G5 or G4? I know it can preforme better than a G4 but a G5 is questionable.

Hardly surprising. If you can fit dual cores at 90nm, then it makes sense that you could fit quad at 65nm, and octuple at 45nm. Getting the power usage down will be a fun trick though.

The Pentium 4 is not favorable. But the chips Intel has coming out (the ones based off of the Pentium M) are very powerful and run pretty cool.

They do pretty well already (three times the performance per watt), and will only get better.
