Hi you all expert, i definitely need some help here after searching through the site , i still couldn't find the solution. Currently i am operating an old G4 Mac 400 mhz , rage 128 pro, the salesman told me it will support the new 23" hd cinema flat panel display, which he fails me, and after checking up the system requirement the minimum should have been radeon 7500. Anyway, i am contemplating on purchasing a new ati 9200 radeon mac edition (within my budget) and would like to ask if it will support the new 23" hd display sitting in my living room. Please help, thanks a million!!!!!

I know that several people on these boards have reported that the 32MB Radeon 9200 in their Mac Minis works fine with the 23 display. The same should hold true for the add on pci card.

It will work. You will be able to connect the display and see all 2.3 million pixels.
It may not work well. 2.3 million pixels is an awful lot for that 9200 GPU to handle. Effects may be slow and laggy; some people can't stand the performance, others think it's just peachy.

Unfortunately, the Mac Radeon 9200 is a PCI card and it doesn't officially support Quartz Extreme. Even if you hack it, the QE performance isn't that great. Try and go for an AGP based card. OWC currently has a sale on 64 MB Radeon 9000. The AGP interface will make a bigger difference than the difference in RAM between the two cards.
