Hello everybody,

Two days ago I installed a Sonnet Allegro USB 2.0 pci card and a Radeon 9600 PC and Mac card in my Quicksilver 733. I'm happy with both cards. This speed bump will get me into the intel powermacs in a year or two. All's well except I would like to see the ripple effect and other assorted eye candy on my OSX 10.4.3 that I missed with my old card. I'm set at 1024 X 768, millions of colors, and 75 hz refresh. Is there a control setting I'm missing? Many thanks. Happy new year everyone.

I don't know why it wouldn't be automatically turned on, since your graphics card supports Quartz Extreme. If you open up System Profiler (in Utilities or by clicking More Info in About This Mac) and click on Graphics/Displays, does it show Quartz Extreme as supported?

You should be about to see the ripple effect when you activate a new Dashboard widget.

Thank you. I DO have the ripple effect. I pulled up a new widget and lo and behold, there was the ripple. I think now I was just looking in all the wrong places and I thought that the ripple was alot more common than I guess it is. Sorry folks for my operator error. The cards are just fine.
Best wishes everybody.
