I purchased my G4 1.25 ghz eMac last year and it came with one 256 meg stick. I'm planning on adding a 512 meg Crucial stick to my eMac for a total of 768 meg.

Does the memory stick placement matter? I mean would I get faster performance if I put the 512 stick in memory slot 1? I know for PC's this is the general rule but not so sure if it's a waste of time for a Mac.

Thanks !

Happy New Year to all.

I don't think it makes any difference - and BTW you can add a 1GB stick if you like - I know as I have done with so with the same model emac since May 2004.

I didn't think so either. Btw i'm performing a major upgrade on my gaming rig and I freed up the 512 meg stick.
