I've decided to get a new mac, my old G4 is getting long in the tooth. It is for sale on ebay.

I am thinking about a mini or imac since (after next week!) I have a Quad G5 at work.

The one question I have about the mini is that i have a 22 Cinema display (ADC connector).

Is anyone using a mini with one of these older Cinema displays? I know I will need an adapter but what about Picture quality?

Thanks for advice!

my cousin drives two different large displays with his mini, a dell 24" at home and an old 23" ACD (thick bezel) at the workplace using the converter, and it works fine but the converter is pretty large but he hasnt had any display problems whatsoever.

If you're used to the 22" Cinema Display, get the 20" iMac and eBay the old display. You're actually getting a higher resolution (1680x1050 versus 1600x1024 on the Cinema) and better LCD technology overall. And of course, the system itself will be a lot faster (I'd wager that the latest iMac G5s will still be faster than first-run Intel Mac minis).

Just FYI, I have a 19" Dell LCD and it is plenty bright. I have been very happy with the setup.
