I bought a new 20" iMac a few days ago and have noticed something that bothers me a little bit. The LCD is off center. The gap at the bottom and the left are very small, however the gap on the right and the top is almost twice as large. You can see from the picture bellow comparing the gap on the right and the bottom. Now I would gladly go to the apple store and exchange it for another one, however that will then be my forth replacement. The first one that I bought had a bad video card, the second one had horrible backlight issues, the third one had hair under the LCD, and now the forth one is just off center. It would seem that Apples quality control is so horrible that I don't know if it is worth the risk of getting another replacement. Then there is the possibility that the people at the apple store will be sick of me coming in with problems . I also noticed that all of the iMacs at the store seem to have a slight LCD position differences, just none of them as bad as the one that I have now.

Wow that's too bad 4 units with different problems but that is very noticeable. My advice is to take it back until you get a good one, who cares what they think at the Apple Store. The other option is to send it to Apple for repairs.
Good Luck !

Now that I look at mine it seems to be off-set by a millimeter or so, but nothing I noticed until now, can't get everything perfect. I'm glad to have one of the ones that is right.
I'd just keep going until it get's fixed or send it in.

Mine's also slightly off center, and I never noticed before. No big deal though. If it bothers you, why not use a darker background?
