Hi, I have had my new iMac 17" for just three days now, and I love it, but the only problem I have with it is the screen. I used to use a Sony LCD with my old windows PC, and I had it set on the lowest brightness, which was REALLY low (my eyes are very sensitive to backlighting, and after spending a while on brighter screens, my eyes really hurt). I have turned my iMacs screen to as low as it will go, but I wondered if there was a way to turn it down even more? The ideal brightness for me would be if the imac was on lowest brightness, and then you opened dashboard with no widgets up.

Any ideas?

Cheers

If you can't find a software solution, a neutral grey plastic sheet might do the trick, as used in film/photography.

Set your Gamma and Target White Point waaay down.

I have the same problem with my eyes. My monitor is "very" dark since I have to stare into it all day.

Cheers, this worked, OK my monitor is a bit of a funny colour now, but for when I dont really need the full correct colours, like when im not using final cut studio, its great 'coz its much less harsh on my eyes

Cheers for the help
