looking to buy one or the other .... but what one ??? also have an i-book can you use the processor from the imac to speed up the ibook wirelessly like you can from ibook to ibook? ohhh my biggest decision of the day what to buy and what to eat ...... i love it hehe and macs too!

Depends on what you are going to be doing with it. If you are going to be using the iLife Apps and doing some browsing and using Office. I would get the new INTEL based iMac. If you are going to be doing a lot of Photoshop and such I would get the G5 iMac.

NO you can's use the Processor from the iMac in an iBook. If you could they would have had a G5 iBook a long time ago.

mostly browsing and ilife etc... but why the same price then? is it less of a computer but just faster at messing around?

Since when can you connect two iBooks together wirelessly to use the processor from one to speed up another ?!?!?!?

The Intel iMac is a faster machine than the iMac G5, but if software isn't designed for the Intel iMac, the software will go slower. Right now, iLife and a few other apps are designed for the Intel iMac, but most (like Photoshop) aren't yet. So basically, if you get an iMac G5, most software will go faster now. If you buy an Intel iMac, most software will go slower now, but a lot faster after it's all switched over.
