Hi:

My iMac has been working flawlessly for 6 months until this week. Twice now I've had 2 very strange crashes where my screen suddenly displays vertical lines of color. 30 seconds later the cooling fans go on full blast and I have to restart.

Anybody else seen this? Any ideas?

Thanks!

That's almost certainly a hardware problem. It could be failing capacitors. Your Mac needs to be taken in for servicing.

On Apple's support website they have a recall for the iMac G5. It is for failing capacitors. I don't remember the URL. Sorry.
