Over at MacInTouch, someone posted this tidbit from the Apple Store, from the "learn more" link where you configure memory for your Intel iMac:
"To maximize memory performance, it is recommended that memory SO-DIMMs be installed in pairs."
So I was hoping that the Intel iMac owners around here, who have already been so generous with information, would perhaps be willing start a new thread around some standard benchmark but particularly noting their memory configuration including number of modules?
I'd suggest something ubiquitous like xbench, but I defer to the guinea pigs, er, owners, themselves.
Thanks.
Bob
P.S. AFAIK all the high-profile reviews so far have been with the base 512MB single-SODIMM setup.
P.P.S. If we're really lucky, a really really generous and curious angel will benchmark the same machine with one and two identical modules.
