Anyone else have a customized iMac Core Duo on order here in Australia?
I ordered mine on the day of the announcement from the online Apple Store, was given a 5-7 days estimate on the order page, and a "shipped by" date of 20-Jan-2006 in the email confirmation. It didn't arrive of course, then this morning (Sat, 21-Jan-2006), it was bumped to 10-Feb-2006.
My local store got them in Friday, so I went and bought a non-customized one from them. I miss out on the extra RAM, wireless keybd & mouse, etc, but at least I have the iMac before mid-February.
Pretty annoyed that Apple's estimates were so far out: just how bad is their supply situation to turn 5-7 days into a month?
Also pretty disgusted that they deliberately waited until a Saturday to bump it, knowing full well that orders like these have to be canceled by phone and the Apple Store only operates Monday-Friday. Hmm.
Anyone else in the same boat?
