I have the latest PPC iMac, which currently has 1GB RAM in. I was thinking of getting this:
Corsair 2GB DDR2 Value Select PC4200 Dual Channel Kit (2x1GB)
- Pins: 2 x 240
- PR Rating (PC): PC4200
- Clock Speed (MHz): 533MHz
- CAS Latency (ns): 4
- Module Configuration:
- Warranty: Lifetime
- Corsair Part Number: VS2GBKIT533D2
Will this work with my iMac?
How big will the performance difference be?

I would not buy that for your iMac. The latest PPC iMacs have 512MB soldered to the motherboard, so to make 1GB you also have 512MB in the slot. You want a single 1GB PC2-4200 DIMM, not a kit like this.
Anywhere from -50% to +10000%. Seriously.

How about this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MakeTrack=true
I emailed the guy about it and he said:
It is designed for macs up to G5 quad processor 2.5GHz (I also had it working in a PC). I can't find the latencies anywhere.
If it doesn't work, then yes you can return it.

This is what you want. That will bump you up to 2.5GB of RAM.

Hi, I am interested in to have a 2G stick for the latest iMac G5, does the "Kingston CL4 2GB DDR2 PC4200 stick" work well? How much is it?
Thanks.
