If you're talking about a G4 tower, they have four drive bays. The G5 only has two.

ALL G4 towers, plus the B&W G3's, support 4 HDD's, & some crafty modders have put 6 in them. G5's only have 2 standard mounts, but there are 3rd party mounts for up to 3 more

There are a variety of chassis upgrades to allow you to add extra drives to a G5 Tower.
maxupgrades.com allow you to add seven additional drives for a total of nine drives.
Remember that if you're upgrading a Dual Core G5 they use PCI Express (for your necessary SATA card.)

Why not just get a G5 tower and put two 500 GB IBM Deskstars in it if space is what you want?

With a $99 G5 Jive adapter you can add three more SATA drives so you could
potentially have 2.5 terabytes in that thing.

If that's not enough, maxupgrades allows up to seven.
