A few months? 1) by then I doubt there will be many G5 iMacs left on sale, and 2) in a few months lots more software will be universal, so why go with the old model?

yeah but I've always been skeptical buying about buying a comp off of ebay, has anyone here had a good experience doing so? Id much rather buy one from a member here out of the marketplace.

I have purchased things off Ebay, but mostly rocket motors, kits, etc. and never had a problem.
I don't think I would buy a computer off ebay though....esp if it was used.

Apple refurbs at the Apple store... they're finally selling some of the 1.9 and 2.1 iMacs.

I wouldn't buy computers off ebay. I have sold one though. I got rid of it because it had a logic board problem and hiked it as soon as Apple fixed it. The ibooks had some recurring issues with that so I wasn't putting up with it. Plus it had a dodgy keyboard key, a huge load of hair under the keys (not pubes btw - not all pubes anyway) and the trackpad was loose.
For the money I got, I bought a brand new Mini with 1GB Ram. Very pleased. I'll think twice before buying an ibook again. The build quality is very poor compared to the powerbook.
I wouldn't buy an imac G5. I'd wait for the Intel Mini. If they make even a single processor 1.6GHz Mini with Radeon x1600 with 128MB VRam, I'm on it. The good thing about the Mini is that the most money you can lose through depreciation is a couple of hundred pounds if even that.

The sooner they finish off the PPC line, the better.
