I have a two and a half year old G4 emac that has been giving me a handful of problems lately, one of them being the screen cutting out and then coming back immediately. It seems to happen more when I am running multiple programs and especially adobe programs, but also happens when I'm just checking my email.
It has yet to affect any running programs or freeze the screen. The screen simply cuts out and makes a frightening clicking noise and then comes back.
Any suggestions?

Hmmm. I would take it to your local Apple Store and reserve a space at the Genius Bar. It sounds like it could be a logic board issue.
