Hi, this is my first thread so be pacient
I am an owner of a G5 2x2.0 which doesn't boot.
It doesn't give singal even to the monitor.
The sound of the fan starts normally and the hard disk
also. The usb ports works properly (i put a mobile disk and it flashes)
I thought that the problem was the mobo's battery so
i removed it. I turned it ot again and the problem was
exactly tha same. I would like you to give me an advice.
It is the mobo's battery that causes the problem?

Have you tried resetting the SMU? You may have a PMU depending on when the computer was manufactured. If that's the case, then you'll have to reset the PMU. Searching Apple's support database for "reset PMU PowerMac" gave me no results for the PowerMac G5 unfortunately .

Yeah, it's odd, for some reason Apple removed the support page referring specifically to G5 PMU reset, except for one page that refers customers to their manuals for the procedure. I have inferred Apple's support team wasn't too certain about which G5s were which in this regard. I even think the manual for my DP 2.0 Rev b. (June 2004) claimed it has a PMU button when it does not. For those wondering, the PMU button on the earlier G5s is near the RAM slots, between the two banks I believe.
