Hello , i was wondering if anybody could offer me an opinion on the merits of possibly upgrading to the RADEON 9800 PRO MAC EDITION 4x/2x AGP 256MB video card.

My current set up is a QS 2001 ( ex 800mHz DP with a Giga Designs SP 1.8GHz ) , Radeon 8500 Mac Edition 64MB video carsd , 1.5Gig of RAM , OS 10.3.9 and 2x Seagate 80Gig 2MB hard drives ).

I use my machine mostly for web surfing , some PS work and the odd bit of game play.

I have a 2MB broad band connection and would like to know would my machine become "faster" at processing web pages etc with a better card?
I see OWC are selling the 9800 for approx $259.

Thanks for any help and advice in advance

regards

Måk

Not particularly. It would be faster for some games, but web browsing really wouldn't be sped up. Your bottle neck isn't likely the video card. Looking at your system, the first thing I would upgrade is the drives.
