Hello. Can anyone help or advise on my much loved eMac. i've added more memory 2x 512mb sd ram dimm but when i boot up and view the system profile is says i've got 2x 128mb.
Now i know i've got the right ram chips with 8 of the big black mircochips on them.
So!? what do i do?
Thanks Kevin

When RAM is bad it can cause the computer to think a totally different sized module is installed. Take out one of the modules and test your Mac to see if it registers the correct amount; the one that does not register properly is obviously the culprit.

The RAM may have high-density chips, while your eMac only supports low-density. Was it specificly marked as eMac compatible when you bought it?

64Mx64 is what you need... it could be some other spec where the RAM doesn't match what you need.
Crucial loves you.

People & companies who sell RAMS on Ebay are fraudulent people. They relabel all the RAMS and some Overclock RAMS which can give you a big a$$ headache in the future. What is the name of the Ebay Seller you bought it from? Don't ever buy from FASTMEMORYMAN they are scammers, they ship you the wrong RAM and keep giving you the run around until the 45 days to dispute (with Paypal) are up, so they pocket the money and you are left without a RAM. Pay a little more and buy it from someone else...
