Hi,
I have a shiney new intel imac 20''
with an extra 19'' widescreen to go with it.
My question is, can I have a 3rd screen, say on the other side?!
How would this be possible, so i can have a HUGE desktop??
The current screen is connected by mini dvi to VGA adapter.
Thanks
T

I dont see it being possible, as the iMac only has one display output, and you cant split that, because it will only give you two of the same image. There are such things that let you plug a box into USB, and it gives you another VGA output. I havent had any experience with this, but found a small story on it, so you can investigate it further

I posted this in another thread, but.....Gefen makes DVI and mini-DVI splitters. Not sure if you would have different screens or just the same thing broadcast on all them, but you might want to check them out.

And as I said in the other thread, a DVI-splitter would just result in having two external monitors with the same thing on them. I don't think it's possible to have two additional screens displaying different things on an iMac.

You could do this with the Matrox DualHead2Go, but you'd have to put the iMac on one of the sides instead of in the middle. Also, I'm not a fan of LCDs on VGA (I think it looks like poop compared to DVI).

Yeah, just saw that. Don't have my iMac yet, so I don't really have a way to test it out. Not sure how "extenable" the screen is, but I'll give you 1 point on the strike - if that's what you were after.
