Did you guys/gals order the 256MB VRAM upgrade? There have been video problems with the 256MB VRAM units. Apple could be holding back these orders until OS X has been updated to correct this problem.
20" iMac G5! :D AND MacBook 1.83GHz!
Canon Digital Rebel Kit + 75 - 300mm lens. Yum Yum! :D

I can wait. Mine isn't supposed to ship until the 16th, that's only 9 days.

I'd rather they hold it a few days and have the issue fixed than to rush it out and have problems.

In the apple forums, everyone that has had the tearing problem has been able to fix it with the older _165 build of OS X. Maybe they are ensuring that only this build is shipping?

I was actually surprised to see the same computers shipping with two different OS builds.....anyone else?

Built to order always takes longer. And demand can swamp ANY supplier. Patience, grasshopper...

Really, with the potential (and most people say actual) benefits of the new platform, I think it would be worth the wait. I wish I could afford one...

Definitely over reacting. What would that be equivalent to? Two steps forward one step back? Or maybe one step forward two steps back.

It seems this 256MB VRAM upgrade issue is just OS X related and not hardware. I have the 256MB card and I do not have the issue in question.

I love my Intel iMac. Trust me, you won't want to settle! Stick it out. Apple with do you right!

My parents ordered a 20" from Amazon Friday, it arrived today.

I'd guess that Apple is holding up the 256MB 20" until they figure out what went wrong in the latest build of OSX (causing the video quality problems).

I ordered mine on the 31st and it was originally supposed to ship on Feb 6th. (that's been pushed back 10 days)

Are you noticing any of the reported video issues?

Yes I am experiencing the video issues with FrontRow, WoW runs great however, seems like FrontRow is the only affected app so far.

<happy dance>
So, my shipping date went from the original 6 Feb 2006 to 16 Feb 2006. But then, to my surprise, I wake up to find that my 20" iMac DC has shipped!!! (9 Feb 2006) My estimated delivery date is 14 Feb 2006...only a single day after my original estimated delivery date.

I haven't experienced the video issue as of yet (thank goodness). And yeah, I've been playing a lot more World of Warcraft now that I don't have to settle for 10 - 15 FPS game play!

A guy over at the World of Warcraft forums has some settings and benchmarks. Check it out here.

eddiecatflap, if your willing to spring for a quad with a 30"er, doesnt that mean youd be doing lots of processor instensive work? And wouldnt that mean the quad would be better for that anyway?
